ABOUT US
The New York Chapter of the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons strives to provide leadership in the area of patient access to care, improve communication, education and networking opportunities for the bariatric surgeons and integrated health professionals within our state. The Chapter’s ongoing committees include Clinical Initiatives, Membership, Upstate Affairs and an Integrated Health Section. Our annual conference provides an opportunity for networking as well as formal educational opportunities.
As a state chapter of the ASMBS, we can provide a local voice to help with issues affecting bariatric surgery practices and their patients. Join the New York Chapter and make a strong statement for leadership and patient advocacy.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the NYS Chapter of the ASMBS is to become the definitive voice for dealing with statewide issues in bariatric surgery. Our goal is to advocate on behalf of patients and providers in New York State. We will work in conjunction with the National Society and other parties to enhance patient access to care and to improve the quality of care provided to bariatric surgery patients. We will work to protect the interests of the patients and the providers in the regulatory and reimbursement arenas. We aspire to be the voice of bariatric surgery in the state of New York and to set a tone of professionalism and mutual respect between members.
